My favourite teaching exercise is a friendly game where we pause to explore the purpose behind every move. You’ll hear how I think about threats, plans and piece placement, and talk through your own ideas too.
We can also review your games. In a 30-minute lesson, we can explore part of a game without rushing to finish.
Play a friendly game with Beau, pausing to discuss what each move is trying to achieve. Ask questions as the position develops.
Spot threats, improve your least active piece, and choose a practical plan when the position gets quiet.
Look at your own games together. Understand key decisions and identify useful habits to practise.
